FAQ
Everything people ask us
What areas do you serve?
All of San Diego County, with East County as our home base: El Cajon, Lakeside, Santee, La Mesa, Spring Valley, Lemon Grove, Alpine, Ramona, Poway, Escondido, Chula Vista, National City and San Diego.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. California contractor license #1131517 (C-20), bonded and insured. You can verify the license on the CSLB website.
How does pricing work?
We diagnose the problem, explain your options, and give you a firm price before any work starts. The price we quote is the price you pay.
Do you work on homes and businesses?
Both. Most of our work is residential, and we also service offices and light commercial spaces, including rooftop package units.
What are your hours?
Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm and Saturday 8 am to noon. Call or text any time. Messages left after hours are returned first thing the next morning.
How much does an AC repair cost?
It depends on the part and the system. We diagnose first and quote a fixed price before doing any work, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
Should I repair or replace my AC?
A good rule: multiply the system's age by the repair cost. If the result is over about $5,000, replacement usually makes more sense. We'll give you both options and an honest recommendation.
Do you pull permits for new systems?
Yes. Replacement installs are permitted, which protects you at resale and makes sure the work is inspected.
My CO detector went off. What should I do?
Get everyone outside, call 911 or SDG&E, and don't go back in until it's cleared. Then call us to inspect the furnace before it's used again.
How often should a furnace be serviced?
Once a year, ideally in the fall. It keeps it safe, efficient, and under warranty.
Do you work on package units?
Yes. We service rooftop and ground-level package units as well as split systems.
Do heat pumps work in San Diego?
Very well. Our winters are mild, which is where heat pumps are most efficient.
Are there rebates?
Often, yes. Programs change, so we'll check what's currently available for your home when we quote.
How long does a mini-split install take?
Most single-zone installs are finished in a day.
Can one outdoor unit serve several rooms?
Yes. A multi-zone system connects several indoor heads to one outdoor unit.
How often should my system be serviced?
Once a year for each system. AC and heat pumps ideally in spring, furnaces in fall.
What's included in a tune-up?
We clean and inspect the system, check refrigerant and electrical parts, test safety controls, change or check the filter, and tell you plainly what condition it's in.
Can you schedule my yearly tune-up in advance?
Yes. Just ask when you call or send a request and we'll set it up.
Do you work after business hours?
We can schedule around your hours to keep disruption low. Ask when you call.
